DEMOLITION DERBY RULES

Here are rules for 3 NEW contests going on at the Wayne County Fair for 2010:

Gift Basket Contest

Contestants create a gift basket on a family oriented theme of their choice (i.e. sports, picnic, back to school, car care etc.) Baskets will be judged on originality, organization and creativity. A donation form signed by contestant giving permission for the basket to be donated to the Wayne County Fair in their name will need to be signed. The basket will then either be auctioned off at the Wayne County Fair auction or held until the auction held in the fall. All proceeds will go for operation of the fair.

  1. Contestant may have more than one entry.

  2. Contestant may enter individually or as a group.

  3. Baskets must contain at least 5 theme related items.

  4. Gift baskets will be accepted at the fair office on Saturday, July 24, between 8 am and noon.

    1st place -$25.00 2nd place - $20.00 3rd place-$15.00


Cookie or Bar Contest

Contestants must place a minimum of one dozen homemade cookies/bars in a container of their choice, which will be used at the Prize Walk or sold with the proceeds going to the Wayne County Fair. Containers may be decorated. A recipe must accompany the dozen cookies. In addition to the one dozen cookies, contestants must place three cookies on a paper plate covered with a Ziploc bag so that the judges have easy access to the baked goods.

The contest will be judged on flavor, texture and appearance of cookies/bars.

  1. Contestant may have more than one entry.

  2. Entries will be accepted at the fair office from noon until 5:30 pm on Thursday July 29.

1st place-$15.00 2nd place-$10.00 3rd place -$5.00

Decorated Hat Contest

Hats must be original design and may be decorated any way you would like. Any type of hat may be used and decorated with any type of materials as long as the work is original. Hats will be judged on originality and creativity.

  1. Contestants may have more than one entry.

  2. Contestant may enter as an individual or as a group.

  3. Hats will be accepted at the 4-H Building between 8 am and 11:30 am Friday July 29.

1st place-$15.00 2nd place - $10.00 3rd place - $5.00
